Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill an experienced Principal/Sr. Principal Software Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization. This position is located at Buckley AFB in Aurora, CO.
The Software Engineer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
This position provides on-site E2 (Tier-3) support to mission critical system during normal duty hours and may provide off-hours telephone support to 24/7 personnel. Candidate should have the ability to respond within one hour if called in during non-duty hours (if needed).

Experience in Network Administration, Database Administration, updating/authoring Unix shell scriptsFamiliarization with Virtual MachinesFamiliarization with Kubernetes/Containers, familiarization with Atlassian products.Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
