Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opening for a Principal DevOps Software Engineer /  Sr. Principal DevOps Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The location for this opportunity is Melbourne, Florida and will be primarily based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule, meaning you will get every other Friday off. The position MAY have Hybrid work available, nothing guaranteed.

The DIPN IPAT O&M Platform Engineer provides cradle to grave life cycle support of integrated applications through continuous updates and refinements of delivered software and systems utilizing modern DevSecOps and automation practices.

**This position may be filled by either a Principal Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer level based on the qualifications listed. **

Essential Functions:  

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability

Maintain and troubleshoot networking components, including VLANs, firewalls, switches, and routers

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, servers, and hardware.

Deploy, manage, and support virtualized environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, or other hypervisors)

Implement and manage core infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, NAS, and Active Directory) Setup an overall Cloud-native Software Factory

Manage and improve container orchestration and deployment strategies

Support programs with integration and deployment automation in a cloud enabled environment

Basic Qualifications: 

Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 Years experience; OR a master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 3 Years experience; OR a PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 1 Years experience

Sr. Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 Years experience; OR a master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 6 Years experience; OR a PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 4 Years experience​

Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux environment.

Proficient with containers and Kubernetes

Experience scripting in YAML, PowerShell, BASH, JSON, etc.…

Proficient with networking concepts

Proficient with SW Development in at least one language (Java, Python, C++)

Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills

Strong experience in establishing, maintaining, and growing DevSecOps resources

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with widely dispersed team members

Strong desire for automation and a track record of flexibility in work roles

Experience integrating and debugging SW

Experience working within an Agile environment

Familiar with Cloud Management and Administration

Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems

Collaborating with teams, industry partners, and customers

Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP)

Ability to lead cross functional agile teams

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
