Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Computer System Architect (Principal/Sr. Principal) to join the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Program to implement and manage various development and mission environments inclusive of all associated hardware and software products. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with technical disciplines such as cybersecurity, hardware engineering, software engineering, and systems engineering to achieve successful outcomes and mission success. This position requires a background with designing, documenting, provisioning, integrating, and maintaining computer systems running Red Hat Linux. Experience with Hewlett Packard (HP) High Performance Computing (HPC) architecture and environments is a plus.
As a Computer System Architect within the DARC program you will get to:
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators and software developers
Interact with users and evaluates vendor products
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Set up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space
Support system administration functions
Provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
Implement and manage HPE HPC clusters
Respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, support development of corrective action and implement corrective actions
Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and oral format
Basic Qualifications
Principal/Level 3: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of experience OR PhD and 1 year of experience.
Sr. Principal/Level 4: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience OR PhD and 4 years of experience.
Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application
Must be able to apply strategic vision and principles across all domains of the computer system architecture
Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact
IAT Level II certification (ex. Security+ CE) or greater.
Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 8/9 OS
Experience with Ansible
Experience with Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM)
Experience with Red hat Satellite Server configuration and usage
Experience with Virtualization
Ability to travel 25% (CONUS or OCONUS)
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to gain SCI
Experience with Hewlett Package Enterprise High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster management solutions such as HPE CM
Experience with VMware Tanzu Kubernetes
Experience with various MPI implementations, IntelMPI, OpenMPI, MPICH
Experience with InfiniBand networks and the InfiniBand protocol
Experience with Nvidia CUDA libraries and GPUs
Experience with job schedulers, such as Slurm or PBS
Experience with global and parallel file systems, such as GPFS
Experience with Data Diode/CDS security solutions
Experience with Agile Methodologies and use of Atlassian tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
Experience with Cameo or similar MBSE tools
Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
