Job Description:
The candidate will perform job duties as a Storage and Backup Architect specializing in advanced storage technologies, including NetApp ONTAP and Dell PowerStore. They will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining storage systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and security across various operational environments in support of the IBCS Product Line in Huntsville, Alabama. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure team to enhance system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, analyze, and resolve deficiencies in storage and backup systems.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to NetApp ONTAP, Dell PowerStore, and associated storage technologies.Manage and maintain storage and backup systems on-prem, including NetApp, Dell, and other SAN/NAS storage platforms.Develop and recommend corrective actions to improve storage performance and reliability.Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and optimal reliability.Perform regular data backups and recovery operations, ensuring data accessibility.Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans tailored to organizational needs.Collaborate with IT team members to support and enhance overall infrastructure performance.Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and security policies.Document system configurations, procedures, and policies for effective knowledge sharing.Conduct regular patching and upgrade cycles to maintain system integrity and performance.Basic Qualifications:
**Principal: ** Experience: 5 years with a Bachelor’s in Science; 3 years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD; an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.**Senior Principal: ** Experience: 8 years with a Bachelor’s in Science; 6 years with a Master’s; 3 years with a PhD; an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Secret Security Clearance.Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+, etc.)Proficiency with managing storage appliances (e.g. SAN and NAS) Strong understanding of data protection and disaster recovery principlesAbility to manage storage quotas for all users across multiple environmentsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and documentation skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., NetApp, Dell, or Veeam certifications)Additional Operating System Environment Certification (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, RHCSA, Net+, CCNA, VMware Certified, etc.).Direct Experience with NetApp ONTAP storage appliancesDirect Experience with Dell PowerStore storage appliancesDirect Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication software and toolsExperience with tape backup appliancesFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python).Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).Broad knowledge of systems administration across multiple technologies (e.g., Windows, Linux, Cisco, VMware, NetApp).Salary Range: $102,400.00 - $153,600.00Salary Range 2: $127,000.00 - $190,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
