Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Principal/Sr Principal Engineer Software Quality. This role can be hired at a level 3 or level 4. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

What You'll Get to Do:
Position Overview:
You will be responsible to provide Software Quality support for one or more software development teams (IPTs) on the Sentinel program. Our focus is on ensuring process execution and compliance in the development, testing and release of the software deliverables.
Essential Functions:
Support individual scrum/sprint teams by attending meetings, creating Jira dashboard tools to help monitor progress and execution efficiency. Offer suggestions for improvement to software leadership.
Create process health, progress and stability metrics when required
Become fluent in the use of tools; Jira, Confluence, Jazz, DOORS or others as needed
Be a constructive advocate for Mission Assurance and relentlessly articulate of our Value Proposition to our stakeholders
Ensure Sentinel software is in compliance with industry standards, NG processes and contractual requirements for development of military weapon systems. Maintain a keen focus on employee engagement, teaming and collaboration, process improvement, rework reduction, and continuous improvement.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer SW Quality: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; or 3 Years with Masters; or 1 Years with PhD.
Senior Principal Engineer SW Quality: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; or 6 Years with Masters; or 4 Years with PhD.
Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Experience in developing and implementing Software Quality Assurance plans and knowledgeable of Software Quality Assurance processes.
Experience in developing and/or using metrics
Experience in evaluation, tracing, and/or analysis of requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment
Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program/supplier-base.
Experience in Peer Reviews and Code Reviews
Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test
Able to read and understand Software Code (C++, Java, Python)
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, DOORs, Jira, Confluence)
Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodolog
A current/Active Top Secret clearance
Salary Range: $95,800.00 - $143,600.00Salary Range 2: $119,200.00 - $178,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
