Principal Specialist, FP&A Operations

The Principal Specialist, FP&A Operations is a critical role within the Global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This individual serves as an advanced subject matter expert, responsible for strengthening our financial planning infrastructure and driving operational excellence across our monthly business rhythm. The role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination of planning cycles, reporting deliverables, and system interfaces, while acting as a key liaison to various FP&A teams, business stakeholders, and our parent company in Japan. At a global level, the Principal Specialist leads initiatives to optimize FP&A operations, including the development and implementation of standardized processes, tools, and reporting frameworks that support strategic decision-making. This role partners closely with regional and functional FP&A teams to ensure alignment across planning activities, forecast accuracy, and performance tracking. The Principal Specialist also plays a key role in managing system integrations and enhancements, ensuring data consistency and reliability across platforms. The Principal Specialist fosters a collaborative and innovative team culture, dedicated to achieving operational excellence and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the FP&A function. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + Lead the end-to-end FP&A global process, providing strategic direction to define, build, and deploy process strategy to drive operational excellence + Develop, implement, and maintain standardized FP&A processes, methodologies, and best practices across all FP&A teams + Ensure consistent application of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes throughout the organization + Establish, update and enforce global FP&A policies, procedures, and guidelines + Strategic Process Improvement and Optimization + Continuously evaluate and optimize FP&A processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with strategic business objectives + Identify and implement opportunities for process automation, AI opportunities, streamlining, and integration of technology solutions + Collaborate with FP&A leadership and teams to gather feedback and implement ongoing process improvements + Taking the lead in solving complex, strategic issues facing our business + Performs other duties and adhoc analytics as assigned + Support the process of updating and/or enhance reporting templates and tools to capture critical financial assumptions + Participate in user testing to deploy system enhancements across key financial planning platforms + (double, see above)Collaborate with Global FP&A team to support transition to global FP&A structure + Prepare visual financial analysis presentations in power point for upper management + **Operational Excellence:** Lead and coordinate the monthly Rhythm of Business (ROB), including planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles. + **System Ownership:** Oversee and optimize financial systems and data flows (DWH, Planning Tools, ERP interfaces), ensuring data integrity and usability. + **Template & Process Governance:** Manage and continuously improve working templates (Q&A, Forecasts, R/O, Lists etc.) used across FP&A processes. + **Presentation & Communication:** Own the creation and refinement of executive-level presentations (e.g., Board slides), including commentary and visual storytelling. + **Project Leadership:** Support or lead strategic FP&A projects such as benchmarking, competitor analysis, and performance deep-dives. + **Stakeholder Management:** Collaborate with internal stakeholders and our Japanese parent company for FP&A-related topics, ensuring alignment and timely communication + **Take responsibility in our FP&A team:** Collaborate and support our FP&A teams to overall improve our process excellence + Performs other duties as assigned from time to time. KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES + Proven experience in FP&A, controlling, or financial systems management + Business acumen demonstrated by the knowledge and understanding necessary to address a wide range of business strategies, challenges, and opportunities. + Strong understanding of planning processes and financial systems + Displays a cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written. + Ability to lead change and manage organizational and high-level process changes. + Technical knowledge in investor relations. + Must have a basic understanding of GAAP, IFRS and Investor KPIs + Ability to collaborate with executives at a strategic and tactical level. + Sense of ownership and pride in own performance and its impact on NTT GDC Global’s success. + Demonstrates a consultative approach in partnering with leaders across the organization. + Proven systems thinking capability, with excellent judgment and ability to balance practical business needs with regulatory and legal requirements. + Effective at translating and explaining technical concepts to non-technical personnel. + Structured, detail-oriented, proactive mindset and maintains high quality of work + Takes initiative, ownership and responsibility and has a solutions-orientated, deadline driven approach. + Demonstrates substantially vast financial knowledge and general management and leadership ability. + Excellent English written and oral communication skills. + Substantially vast business negotiation and conflict resolution skills. + Political savvy and culturally astute + Ability to influence and advise Executive Leadership, providing insights that will lead to decision-making within the business. + Excellent ability to work under pressure, planning personal workload and delegating. + Substantially vast understanding of regulation, innovation, and microeconomic industry trends coupled with an understanding of cost and revenue, capital allocation, and stakeholder issues. + Ability to adapt to changing business environments and lead financial transformation initiatives when necessary. + Commitment to ethical and responsible financial practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. + Commitment to staying updated with industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices through ongoing professional development. + Ability to cope with stressful situations. + Respectful and networking Team player ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field required. + MBA or a master's degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline is highly preferred. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE + Bachelor's degree or equivalent finance, economics, business management, statistics, or related field is preferred. + • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant high-level Financial and Capital Planning/ FP&A experience + • Advanced experience in a similar position in a related environment. + • Advanced experience with MS office and data warehouse tools. + • Advanced experience with workday or other HR tools. + • Advanced demonstrable extensive experience within finance in a company with international operations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 25 lbs. + Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility + Remain stationary for long periods of time. + Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform. + Position self in small spaces. + Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments. + Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment. + Must have flexible work schedule to accommodate across global business hours WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS + This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite. + Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises. + Exposure to outdoor weather conditions. + Travel may be required _This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity._ _A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable._ NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 162,000.00 - $ 208,200.00. All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
