Principal Software Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer-Java to join our technology team at Clarivate. 

Compu Mark, part of Clarivate, is the world market leader in trademark search and watch services.  We provide trademark professionals with accurate data and help them protect their intellectual property. 

About You (Skills & Experience Required)  

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related field 

Minimum 10 years of experience in technologies like Java 11+, SpringBoot 2.0+, Transaction management, JMS 

Experience in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications in any major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) .

Experience building APIs or integrating with APIs (data models, validation, security)

Experience working with automated testing frameworks. Relational databases, mainly Oracle

Experience with Agile development methodologies.  

It would be great if you also have:   

Understanding of EJB’s and Swing as this is the current technology 

Knowledge about messaging systems like AWS SQS, WebSphere MQ or others. 

Knowledge about CI/CD frameworks (Jenkins/Team city) for improving our feature time to market 

Any experience working with AI or data science, e.g. using Chatbot APIs, interacting with AI models, etc. 

What will you be doing in this role?   

You will work with other engineers on the migration to the newer technologies.  This project is already on the way, so you will assist with the implementation, testing and roll-out.  Understand that this is multi-phased project where the first tech upgrade is way to move away from WebSphere. 

Build new features and develop a result driven approach.

Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end. 

Perform to the highest engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter. 

Work on a monolith application and break it to multiple deployable units.  

Provide a roadmap on how to further improve the tech-stack. Coach the current developers to the new technologies. 

Write SQL’s as a lot of configurations is done via Oracle DB. 

    

About the Team     

You will be part of the business systems team.  This team takes care of the whole order lifecycle from ordering to calculating prices, calculating to driving workflow.  We are currently on a six-weekly release schedule, we expect you to participate in those releases together with other team members. 

  
Hours of Work    

This is permanent position with Clarivate. You will be working in IST time zone, 9 hours per day including 1 hour lunch break.
