Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Software Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to solve challenging software problems alongside key technical leadership on cutting-edge classified platforms.
What You'll Be Doing:
Developing robust software applications in a Secret environment
Working with containerization technologies like Docker or podman
Deploying and managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters (on-premises or cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP)
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Master's Degree preferred
10+ years of related professional experience
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, concepts and operations
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, Ansible, Robot Framework
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkin, Gitlab runner) and IaC tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
Understanding of Kubernetes networking fundamentals, including coreDNS, load balancing, ingress controllers, various Container Network Interfaces (e.g. Cilium, Canal, KubeVIP, Calico)
Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus/Grafana) and logging tools (e.g. Loki, Fluentbit, Fluentd)
Experience with writing and managing Kubernetes manifests (YAML files), Helm charts, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) for deploying and managing applications
Experience with various Kubernetes Container Storage Interfaces (e.g. Rook/Ceph, CIFS, NFS)
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certifications
Strong problem-solving abilities, communications, and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams
