Join us and be part of something bigger – helping to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time. **Position Summary** The mainframe architect will be responsible for designing and developing IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Will be responsible for leading the design, optimization, and modernization of CVS Health’s core mainframe platforms. This senior technical leader ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of critical legacy systems, while driving transformation initiatives that align with enterprise business objectives and modernization strategies. **Required Qualifications** + 10+ years’ experience in mainframe technology (e.g., z/OS, COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS, etc.) with at least 5 years in an architecture or lead role. + 5+ Years experience in Healthcare Claims Adjudication + Demonstrated success in leading mainframe modernization and transformation projects. + Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, security, and compliance in regulated environments. + Strong experience with automation, scripting, DevOps, and CI/CD in mainframe contexts. + Proven ability to communicate vision, influence technical direction, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders. + Experience managing and developing senior-level engineering talent. + Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills + Mastery of collaboration and teamwork + Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills + Mastery of execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills + Mastery of business intelligence **Preferred Qualifications** Certified Agile Developer (CAD) preferred. Exposure to healthcare industry standards and regulatory frameworks pertaining to medical insurance and medical claims processing Certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF), project management, or relevant mainframe technology. **Education** Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification. **Pay Range** The typical pay range for this role is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
