We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Senior Principal Safety Systems Engineer to join our Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) organization. This position is based out of Linthicum, MD and will be 100% on-site.
What You’ll get to Do:
Develop and implement a MIL STD 882 compliant system safety program
Conduct System Safety analysis to ensure risks are identified, communicated, tracked, and mitigated to a tolerable level
Document and present results of system safety analysis in formal contract deliverable reports
Communicate and present results of System Safety analysis with internal/external customers and at major milestone reviews
Provide technical leadership in the System Safety Engineering discipline and work to drive sound systems engineering on programs
This position is contingent upon contract award, the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access prior to start.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Safety Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, master's degree with 3 years of experience or Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required.
A current / active DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
3 years direct experience implementing System Safety Engineering practices in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, ARP-4761/DO-178/254, or other relevant standards.
3 years of experience conducting system safety hazard analyses such as PHA, SRHA, FHA, SHA, SSHA, O&SHA, or FTA.
3 years of experience implementing or developing Safety Analysis plans and reports, such as SSPP, SAR, or HMMP.
3 years of experience using a Hazard Tracking System (HTS).

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
U.S Citizenship is required.
A current / active DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
5 years direct experience implementing System Safety Engineering practices in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, ARP-4761/DO-178/254, or other relevant standards.
5 years of experience conducting system safety hazard analyses such as PHA, SRHA, FHA, SHA, SSHA, O&SHA, or FTA.
5 years of experience implementing or developing Safety Analysis plans and reports, such as SSPP, SAR, or HMMP.
5 years of experience using a Hazard Tracking System (HTS).
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
A current / active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher.
Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
Experience implementing software safety protocols on complex systems.
Experience presenting at SSSTRP/WSERB Board reviews.
Experience with DoD System Safety programs across all phases of the systems engineering developmental lifecycle.
Experience briefing System Safety analysis at design reviews such as SRR, SFR, PDR, or CDR.
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
Experience working with Safety Management Systems.
Experience with RF and/or Laser Safety analysis.
