We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD and will require 100% on-site work. **What You’ll Get to Do:** As an integral part of our Specialty Systems Engineering team in Mission Systems, you will be fulfilling the role of a Principal / Senior Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer. + Develop and implement a sound human factors program, providing support in Human Factors Engineering discipline, and working to drive sound systems engineering on programs. + Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products. + Interface with design engineers to influence the design for human factors with a focus on optimizing the human-machine interface and designing for maintainability. + Conduct design for maintainability assessments using criteria from MIL-STD-1472. + Conduct Operator and Maintainability Task Analyses (OTA/MTA) and assist with demonstrations to support requirements verification. + Develop and execute maintainability analysis for military systems and components, ensuring compliance with MIL-HDBK-472. + Establish and maintain maintainability metrics (MTTR, MMH/FH, etc.) to support design concepts and reduce downtime. This requisition may be filled as a Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer. This position is contingent upon contract award, successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP). **Basic Qualifications** **Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer** **:** + Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + U.S Citizenship is required. + An active DoD Secret clearance. + Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP). + Proficient understanding and demonstrated implementation of MIL-STD-1472 and Human Engineering criteria. + Experience conducting Human Factors Engineering (HFE) assessments + Experience presenting results at major design reviews and effectively interfacing with customers, leading to actionable feedback and design improvements + Experience developing Human Systems Integration/Human Factors Engineering and Maintainability plans and analysis reports + Experience working in cross-functional/integrated product teams providing Human Systems Integration/Human Factors and Maintainability Subject Matter Expertise **Basic Qualifications Senior** **Principal Human Factors & Maintainability Systems Engineer** **:** + Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + U.S Citizenship is required. + An active DoD Secret clearance. + Proficient understanding and demonstrated implementation of MIL-STD-1472 and Human Engineering criteria. + Experience conducting Human Factors Engineering (HFE) assessments + Experience presenting results at major design reviews and effectively interfacing with customers, leading to actionable feedback and design improvements + Experience developing Human Systems Integration/Human Factors Engineering and Maintainability plans and analysis reports + Experience working in cross-functional/integrated product teams providing Human Systems Integration/Human Factors and Maintainability Subject Matter Expertise **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields. + Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher. + Experience conducting Design for Maintainability assessments + Experience planning, conducting and supporting Human Engineering and/or Maintainability demonstrations + Experience supporting proposals + Experience utilizing CAD (NX) and human modeling + Experience in Human System Integration + Experience applying Human Systems Integration/Human Factors and Maintainability principles to aerospace and defense systems. Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
