Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Project Management / Sr. Principal Project Management – Release Train Engineer - Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The Principal Project Management / Sr. Principal Project Management – Release Train Engineer will work on the Modeling and Simulation – Framework (MASC-F) program with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers. The RTE will support the OSF Release Train and will work directly with the Product Manager to facilitate program level processes and execution, drive continuous development and improvement, manage risks and mitigate and/or escalate impediments (as appropriate). The RTE is also responsible for coaching the associated ART members in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Essential Functions:
Facilitate the Program Increment planning events and readiness for events across the programMaintain metrics, analysis, and reports on the health, performance and flow of the OSF Release TrainProactively manage and resolve risks and dependencies on the OSF Release TrainEscalate and track blocking issues and impediments to progress, coordinate with leadership help to remove as neededCoordinate with technical and program leadership to refine processes and drive improvementsFacilitate system demos, scrum of scrums, and other OSF Release Train events as designatedGuides growth of Scrum Masters on the OSF Release TrainThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management are:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or 1 years of experience with a PhD.Software Engineering / Project Engineering experience working within the defense industryExperience using Agile Lifecycle Management tools (e.g. Jira, VersionOne, Rally, etc.)Strong prioritization skills: ability to focus on what drives the most valueStrong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levelsAbility to leverage and implement agile patterns in support of a disciplined engineering contextFamiliarity with product and release lifecycle from requirements development to retirementAbility to decompose features into user storiesExperience with git and git-based repository systems (e.g. Gitlab, Bitbucket, etc.)Ability and willingness to travel to support business needs.Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start.Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Project Management are:

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
