Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems provides an excellent opportunity for a Principal Program Planning & Scheduling Analyst – Deployment Scheduler (25-431) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial part in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a critical part of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
In this role, the successful candidate will act as a key resource for deployment planning and deconfliction, ensuring that deliverables meet technical, scheduling, and cost targets. Erroneous decisions or delays in deployment planning and execution could significantly impact the overall program performance.
Essential Functions:
Prepares, develops, and coordinates the integrated master plan (IMP) and integrated master schedule (IMS) to achieve all program objectivesEnsures major projects, programs, schedules, and plans are integrated both horizontally and vertically across all company functions, including finance, engineering, material management, manufacturing, and qualityTracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, and identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflictsUtilizes tools like Gantt charts, PERT charts, milestone charts, earned value management, and other project management techniques to track progress and allow effective interventions in key areasCollaborates with deployment-focused technical leads, engineering managers, and cross-functional teams (e.g., deployment, sustainment, systems engineering) to ensure proper schedule and resource coordination across project areas, especially for hardware/software deploymentsSupports deployment lifecycle activities, including sustainment and development phases, by ensuring proper alignment between scheduling requirements and deployment execution milestonesManage scheduling for iterative and adaptive development environments, including Agile and spiral development processes. Supports cross-team communication to resolve resource conflictsServes as the primary scheduling contact for the organization on contracts or projects. Frequently communicates with senior internal and external personnel, including customers, providing schedule updates, overseeing customer reviews, and ensuring stakeholder needs are metSupports planning and execution of activities related to changes, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and other customer-requested engineering estimatesDevelops mechanisms for tracking progress, including new reporting tools, regular status updates, and a schedule baselineDevelop solutions for a range of complex problems. Skilled at resolving conflicts between functional teams or project areasProactively addresses potential schedule and resource conflicts related to deployment or technical lifecycle management, resolving scheduling bottlenecks amid vague or changing circumstancesPerforms fairly complex tasks under broad objectives, balancing long-term planning with short-term scheduling updates and coordination activitiesIndependently develop schedules and workflows while integrating deployment-specific development priorities into the overall schedule planRegularly acts as the primary contact for the organization on contracts or projectsWorks closely with deployment technical leads, CAMs, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of deployment schedulesFacilitates regular presentations and reviews for internal teams and external customer stakeholders, offering deployment-specific schedule insights and recommendations to maintain schedule baseline integrityBasic Qualifications:

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
