Main responsibilities:

Our Workforce Management Product team is seeking a Principal Product Manager to define and lead a next-generation forecasting system that optimizes store labor hours across our retail network. In this role, you will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a greenfield, in-house labor forecasting platform built in close partnership with Data Science, Engineering, and Technology teams. You will work hands-on with data scientists to shape forecasting models, experiment with modern AI/ML approaches, and solve for in-store forecasting and scheduling challenges into scalable product capabilities.

You will collaborate deeply with retail store labor leaders, forecasting and operations stakeholders to understand business requirements, legacy rules, and on-the-ground pain points, ensuring the solution delivers measurable operational impact. This role requires comfort diving into complex legacy systems, understanding existing scheduling, labor management, and payroll integrations, and leading the evolution toward a modern, flexible architecture. As a product leader, you will thrive in ambiguity, drive alignment across diverse stakeholders, and roll up your sleeves to move from concept to deployment. You will play a critical role in modernizing labor forecasting capabilities and improving the daily experience of store teams through smarter, more accurate labor planning.

Define and own the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for a new store labor forecasting system Partner with Data Science teams to design, build, and iterate on in-house forecasting models, including experimentation with new AI/ML techniques Collaborate with retail labor, forecasting, and store operations leaders to gather business requirements and validate solutions Work closely with Engineering and Technology teams to build scalable infrastructure and integrate with scheduling, labor management, and payroll systems Dive deep into legacy systems to understand existing rules, constraints, and workflows, and guide modernization efforts Translate complex analytical and technical concepts into clear product requirements and outcomes Lead product discovery through store visits, interviews, and workshops to deeply understand store-level pain points Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through launch, measurement, and continuous improvement

Drive alignment and influence across cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership

 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex data or platform products Prior experience leading greenfield initiatives and large-scale legacy system migrations Strong background working with data science and engineering teams on forecasting, optimization, or analytics-driven products Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces and define clarity where none exists Comfort rolling up sleeves to dive into data, systems, and operational workflows Experience in retail, workforce management, labor planning, or adjacent domains strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; master’s degree preferred

The salary range is $173,690.00 to $225,830.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
