Principal Product Manager, Technical, Global Supply Chain Transportation Procurement

Amazon Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) is seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager to lead the development, launch, and implementation of innovative tools that will revolutionize how Amazon contracts and enable the use of logistics services across all levels of the supply chain globally. Key job responsibilities - Establish the product foundation, including development of PRFAQs, product roadmaps, BRDs, and entitlement analysis documents - Own and drive programs with significant complexity and broad cross-organizational impact - Lead large engineering efforts that solve complex technical challenges - Identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies and architectural decisions - Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with strategic vision and goals - Lead team design, feature scoping, and prioritization discussions - Drive cross-functional collaboration and build partnerships across organizations - Collaborate with SDEs, PMs, TPMs, and SDMs to architect and deliver high-quality technology solutions - Take ownership of problems and propose solutions, even when outside your domain - Conduct deep dive assessments and ad-hoc data analysis - Establish and track metrics, KPIs, and regular reporting mechanisms - Integrate information security into organizational development and processes - Measure success metrics and drive product evolution based on data insights A day in the life As a Principal Technical Product Manager, you will: - Lead strategic planning meetings to align product with business objectives - Collaborate with engineering teams to design and refine technical specifications - Drive architectural decisions that impact multiple partner systems - Present progress updates and performance metrics to senior leadership - Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across various Amazon business units - Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence About the team The Strategic Initiatives and Program Management Office within GSCTP is dedicated to transforming complex processes into streamlined, efficient tools that benefit all Amazon business units. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition - Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product - Experience technical product management - 10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams - 10+ years of technical product management experience - 7+ years of software development experience - Proven problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Preferred Qualifications - Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements - Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement - Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 7+ years of experience in product management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality management - Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams - Familiarity with supply chain and transportation industry concepts - Track record of successfully launching complex technical products - Experience defining and reporting on KPIs/SLAs to senior leadership - Experience with security integration and compliance requirements Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
