Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Principal Network Engineer to act as a project and team lead for one of our largest Telecom customers within their consulting services organization. This individual will lead client site assessments, evaluate existing network environments, and recommend one of six standardized design models best suited to each customer’s needs. They will translate technical and business requirements into detailed proposals, develop Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and coordinate device staging within the staging facility before handing configurations off to engineering teams. In this leadership‑focused role, you will define processes, mentor junior engineers, and serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues, project concerns, or guidance needed throughout implementation. Success in this role requires strong expertise in routing (including BGP and VPN technologies), network security (firewalls, DMZ design, secure perimeters), and hands‑on experience with Cisco, Arista, and Cradlepoint technologies. Skills and Requirements -Extensive hands-on network and network security engineering experience (BGP, VPN, Cisco, Arista, DMZ, Cradlepoints, firewalls, etc.) -Experience in a lead role with the proven ability to mentor others and lead complex projects/initiatives -Experience in a customer-facing role -Strong documentation experience, as well as experience translating requirements, creating proposals and presenting to stakeholders.
