What You'll Do:
An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results.Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs/implements innovative business strategies. Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.This is a service design & architecture role that will require working directly with Product Management, Alliance Partners, and other AT&T Technology Organizations to ensure marketing and customer requirements can be met technically.The appropriate candidate will work as a liaison between internal AT&T organizations such as ABS Product, Mobility, IoT and the Alliance Partner group to both reconcile the technical feasibility and service architecture of new opportunities brought in by those organizations as well as identify new revenue opportunities using innovation of new technologies and function. In addition, this role will be responsible for the Design and Architecture to support new services, determine certification requirements, work with various vendors and cross service organizations to fully realize the end-to-end solution.What You'll Bring:
Research, Development and Collaboration: Drive Research and Development initiatives, integrate emerging technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.Strategic Technical Leadership/Communication: Provide strategic direction and leadership to develop and implement innovative, scalable, and robust systems aligning with organizational goals. Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering, and development.Project and Team Management: Lead complex projects from inception to implementation and foster a collaborative team environment. Effectively communicate project progress and technical concepts to stakeholders.Lifecycle Service Support: Provide technical support to Product Management, Account teams and customers when needed associated with the supported Layer 1 and Layer 2 services.What You'll Need:
Subject Matter Expert: Layer 1 and Layer 2 access technologies:Fiber Optics, Ethernet, OTNOptical Network architectures: Metro and Long-Distance connectivity models, ROADM technology, transponders/muxponders and Layer 2 switched access technologiesLayer 2 technologies across shared and dedicated ethernet: including but not limited to VPLS, MPLS, EVPN, VLAN tagging, VXLAN.Functionality of Network Termination Equipment (NTEs): Various vendors e.g., Ciena, RAD, etc.Familiarity with AT&T Layer 1 and Layer 2 services is preferred but not mandatory: AT&T Wavelength Services (formerly EPLS WAN and ADE); AT&T Shared Ethernet (ASE); AT&T Shared Ethernet on Demand (ASEoD)Layer 3 expertise e.g., routing, and routed protocols over IP are also preferred but not required. PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.Our Principal Member of Technical Staff, earns between $180,200-$270,400 USD Annual Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
