What You'll Do
An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs/implements innovative business strategies. Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.This is a service design & architecture role that will require working directly with Product Management, Alliance Partners, and other AT&T Technology Organizations to ensure marketing and customer requirements can be met technically.The candidate will need to have an above average technical knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 access technologies. Expert understanding of Virtual Network Functions, and the application technology used in common VNF instantiations such as SD WAN, Firewalls, Session Border Controllers and vRouters coupled with Data Center (Spine / Leaf) architectures. An understanding of AT&T’s current managed service portfolio and familiarity with associated services e.g., Global IP Voice, NetBond Essentials, Cloud Voice would be preferred but not mandatory.What You'll Bring
Research, Development and Collaboration: Drive Research and Development initiatives, integrate emerging technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.Strategic Technical Leadership/Communication: Provide strategic direction and leadership to develop and implement innovative, scalable, and robust systems aligning with organizational goals. Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering, and development.Project and Team Management: Lead complex projects from inception to implementation and foster a collaborative team environment. Effectively communicate project progress and technical concepts to stakeholders.The appropriate candidate will work as a liaison between internal AT&T organizations such as ABS Product, Mobility, IoT and the Alliance Partner group to both reconcile the technical feasibility and service architecture of new opportunities brought in by those organizations as well as identify new revenue opportunities using innovation of new technologies and function. In addition, this role will be responsible for the Design and Architecture to support new services, determine certification requirements, work with various vendors and cross service organizations to fully realize the end-to-end solution.
What You'll Need
Education: Bachelors of Science degree in the field of Engineering, Math or Science preferred. Requires 8 - 10 years experience in the following areas:Compute on Private Cloud: Including Virtual Network Functions e.g. SD WAN, vRouter, vFW, Service Chaining, OPEN APIs and Orchestration.Data Center Architecture and Cloud Connectivity: Familiar with Dell switches , compute , VLAN, VXLAN and virtualization software (Preferably Redhat)Network Function Virtualization: As applied on private compute platform as well as in partner networks, such as Equinix NE and Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GPC)Access technologies: Internet, Fiber, MPLS, Ethernet, 5GKnowledge of VoIP: (SIP Trunking, Cloud Voice, Session Border Controllers, Call Center Applications)Our Principal Member of Technical Staff earns between $180,200.00 - $270,400.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
