Key Responsibilities
The Principal Learning & Development Specialist, reporting to the Mission Assurance Manager Training and Development Lead, applies instructional design expertise to design, develop and deploy learning solutions to address our most critical workforce development needs across the Aeronautics Systems (AS) Sector.
Location: Any NG Worksite, travel up to <25%
As the Principal Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist, you will:
Developing measurable learning objectives using Bloom’s taxonomy and design instruction that manages cognitive load and incorporates learning frameworks
Applying instructional design theories and learning methodologies to create impactful learning materials
Consulting on multiple L&D projects, providing thought leadership and instructional design expertise
Developing and delivering innovative and engaging virtual and/or in-person training and development offerings, emphasizing experiential and simulation-based learning
Collaborating with subject matter experts on the planning, development, implementation, and sustainment of talent development solutions
Conducting subject matter expert interviews to collect information on high-priority skills and business outcomes
Managing L&D projects through the full ADDIE lifecycle, including establishing goals, learning objectives and timelines
Prepare presentations and brief stakeholders at multiple levels across the organization
Designing and implement upskilling solutions that apply adult learning principles and industry best practices
Training and development of employees within the Mission Assurance organization
Designing and developing training and development programs and materials that address the identified needs.
Creating both in-person and online training sessions, workshops, seminars, and e-learning modules.
Developing evaluation tools such as surveys, tests, and feedback forms to assess the effectiveness of training programs
Analyzing feedback and performance data to measure the impact of training on employee performance and organizational goals
Basic Qualifications
5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD. Relevant experience could be in Quality Assurance, IT Training, or Private/Public Education.
Must be willing to work any shift to include Days, Nights and weekends
Demonstrated experience developing and deploying training or technical development programs in a corporate, military, or defense setting
Experience developing, implementing, or managing training management systems
Ability to Obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access based on business needs
Executive level presentation experience and proven proficiency
Demonstrated experience assessing learning and development needs
Demonstrated experience facilitating in-person and/or virtual training
Demonstrated experience creating training materials to support learning needs across an organization
Demonstrated experience in instructional design models, technology and leveraging learning theories
Preferred Qualifications
Worked in/around the technical & functional domains we support (e.g., Quality Management Systems)
Active DoD Security Clearance
Experience working in an Agile work environment
Experience with eLearning authoring tools (Adobe Captivate), SharePoint, and other Adobe products
Experience facilitating in-person training
Experience with mission assurance or quality management
Experience with data visualization tools
Experience performing LMS administration tasks, including user provisioning, role assignments, enrollment automation, reporting, and analytics dashboards
Primary Level Salary Range: $70,100.00 - $128,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
