Principal HR Generalist, AWS Databases
Description DESCRIPTION Join AWS's Databases organization as a Senior HR Generalist in a unique role designed to drive strategic HR innovation across our organization. This position will be instrumental in developing and implementing transformative people initiatives that enhance our organizational capabilities and support our rapid growth in the databases space. As a key member of the HR team, you will architect and execute innovative solutions that drive meaningful impact across the entire Databases organization that strengthen our talent capabilities, enhance our organizational effectiveness, and build for the future. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who can translate complex business challenges into actionable solutions. You will demonstrate intellectual curiosity and analytical rigor, using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making and drive results. You will be: • A strategic partner who can identify opportunities for organizational improvement and develop innovative solutions that scale • An analytical thinker who leverages data to drive insights and inform program design • A skilled relationship builder who can influence without authority and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes • An innovative problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and can create structure from complexity • A results-oriented executor who can drive programs from conception to implementation • A collaborative team player who can work effectively across functions and levels • A thought leader in HR practices who stays current with emerging technologies Key job responsibilities • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that require extensive collaboration and influence • Design and implement strategic programs that address critical business needs across the Databases organization, such as build-over-buy talent strategies, succession planning frameworks, and reverse mentorship initiatives • Leverage GenAI capabilities to enhance HR operations and create scalable solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness • Develop and deploy innovative talent programs that strengthen our organization's capabilities and competitive advantage • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to identify opportunities for organizational improvement and implement solutions at scale • Drive data-informed decision-making through analytics and insights that shape our people strategy • Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and builder experience • Design and deliver change management strategies to support program implementation Basic Qualifications • 10+ years of HR experience, with demonstrated success in program development and implementation • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field • Proven track record of developing innovative HR solutions in fast-paced environments • Strong analytical and project management skills • Experience with organizational development and change management • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior leadership • Excellence in written and verbal communication Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field • Experience in tech industry, particularly in cloud computing or databases • Track record of successful program development and implementation at scale • Experience with GenAI tools and applications • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into HR solutions • Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication • Global HR experience • Experience working in high-growth, transformative environments • Deep understanding of talent management and organizational development principles • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
