Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst. This position will report to the NGDS Sector Budget Manager and perform financial analyst activities for our Defense Systems Sector. This high impact role will work closely with sector and division business management teams. The position sits onsite in McLean, VA.
Position responsibilities and duties include:
Ownership of specific Sector Leadership Team (SLT) budgets, including budget development and cost monitoring, analyzing YTD rate variances, and developing a forecast positionEffectively communicating budget performance and risks/opportunities with stakeholdersProviding support on various business management needs for the SLT, including affordability and scenario analysis, charging guidance, intercompany work orders (IWOs), and ad hoc questions as neededAssisting with the sector monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables; maintaining month-end closing documentationParticipating in Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) development and packagingEnsuring compliance with applicable NGDS Sector PrOP (Principles and Operating Practices) and incorporation of the relevant NGDS segment Disclosure Statement of Changes during planning cyclesPrincipal Financial Analyst:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experienceAbility to work onsite in McLean, VA (3 days/week)Understanding of government rates lifecycles and dependenciesProficiency in SAP/S4 & Microsoft Office, as well as IBM Cognos Analytics/Reporting platformsPossess an analytical nature; makes recommendations based on acquired data and cumulative experienceAbility to convey information clearly, and adapt communication style for different audiences, including peers, senior management, and sector leadershipPreferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industrySelf-motivated, yet functions well in a team environmentDetail and results oriented; ability to deliver accurate results under time sensitive conditionsExcellent organizational and prioritization skillsFamiliarity with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
