Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Systems – Network Virtualization Engineer III (25-360) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, located in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by linking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a vital component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.

In this role, the candidate will serve as a Network Virtualization Engineer and Developer supporting network build-out and deployments to the operational environment as needed. The candidate will work within an agile Scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual terms and agreements.

Essential Functions:

Will be responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sitesWill be responsible for traveling to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently troubleshoot, and provide status updates to Program personnelMust have experience with Microsoft Windows Server and RedHat Server handling multi-user applicationsMust have experience in developing tools as well as their common usageMust be skilled in troubleshooting virtual machine issues and performance problemsMust have experience creating VM deployment templates and automating deploymentsMust understand Network Attached Storage, especially the NetApp FAS seriesMust have Storage Area Network experience with high availability and performance for virtualizationMust be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills, proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint and VisioMust be able to work well with others in a team and independently on large field projects with other highly motivated network engineersMust have experience with the Agile Framework or applying Agile principles in engineering workPossesses an understanding of standard DoD security practices, such as STIG compliance and system accreditation effortsPerform any other tasks required by the program

Basic Qualifications:

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
