Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a talented Principal Engineer Mission Assurance to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
The Principal Engineer Mission Assurance will support multiple FMS IBCS programs. The selected candidate will perform the following:

Perform technical reviews of drawings, SOWs, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents as requiredCollaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place for meeting contractual requirementsProvide QMA support for preparation of presentation material, review of documentation, sign-off on technical review materials and readiness, attendance at meetings, and support to closeout of review action items Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analysesParticipate in Risk Management process and support to team in identification and assessment of risks or opportunities for program performanceDevelop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished productsSupport/Lead hardware control to Bill of Materials (BOM), First Article Inspections, close-out and delivery inspections and control of end item data packagesRoot Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) facilitation, review and reporting to include monitoring status of corrective and preventive actions and tracking through closure, reviewing/analyzing defect data, monitoring test problem report data and closure status, monitoring causal analysis and resolutionConduct/support internal process and external supplier evaluations and develop reportsAssist Program Quality Managers with Mission Assurance / Program Management requirementsSupport fielded major end items (MEI) integration of hardware/software as neededPrepare and/or present data in management-level presentationsBasic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science AND 5 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality AssuranceAbility to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statements of work, and requirementsExperience with ISO9001, and/or AS9100 industry standardsAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret DOD Security ClearanceMust be able to work on-site in Huntsville, AlabamaPreferred Qualifications:
Dedicated to teamwork and be able to work well in a team environmentISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditorFamiliar with AS9102 and AS6500Active DOD Secret Security ClearanceExperience working with military or government contractsPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
