Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT supporting the Sentinel program. 

What You’ll Get To Do: 

The selected candidate will perform technical planning, provide electrical and/or mechanical equipment design process guidance, manage PDP schedule and performance, and support design reviews. The candidate responsibilities will include equipment design coordination with stress, EEE, design, test, and other teams. The candidate’s responsibilities will include performing CPLM Tech Lead reviews on PDPs in addition to coordination with other teams.

The selected candidate will demonstrate technical skills, organization, be an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate. They will have the ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 5 years of relevant experience, 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD.

3 years of electrical engineering experience in at least two of the following fields: electrical architecture, power system and power equipment design, development and test of mixed signal circuits, interface definition (internal and/or external), or power distribution.

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years 

A thorough knowledge of the design review process with a proven track record of releasing design on time.

Experience leading projects/assignments.

Experience projecting future work scope and meeting schedule.

Experience reviewing and coordinating PDP work between multiple design engineers.

Experience designing PDPs to meet system requirements.

Experience working with Vendor Item Control Drawings (VICDs) & Source Control Drawings (SCDs).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Electrical engineering experience in at least two of the following fields: electrical architecture, power system and power equipment design, development and test of mixed signal circuits, interface definition (internal and/or external), or power distribution.

Working experience utilizing power system design, and/or analysis software tools, such as ETAP, PSS/E, SKM or PSCAD.

Working experience designing, troubleshooting (RCA) and/or implementing ground power systems, facility power systems and/or launch power systems.

Knowledge of industry/military codes and standards, including the IEEE, NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEC, and UFC.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
