Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Engineer to lead our DevSecOps and FinOps initiatives in Digital Technology, driving strategic technical decisions that enhance our application delivery pipeline while optimizing security, compliance, and cost efficiency. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

DevSecOps Leadership

- **Strategic Pipeline Development**: Design and implement enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines that integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and automated testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle; harmonize them in the strategic direction and in full collaboration with Software Engineering organization

- **Containerization Strategy**: Lead the development of comprehensive containerization pathways for AMCB Digital, including Docker optimization, Kubernetes orchestration, and service mesh implementation

- **Security Integration**: Embed security practices into development workflows through automated vulnerability scanning, policy-as-code implementation, and security gate enforcement

- **Infrastructure as Code**: Drive adoption of IaaC practices to ensure consistent, auditable infrastructure deployments

FinOps Excellence

- **Cost Optimization**: Develop and implement strategies to monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across all environments and services utilized in AMCB Digital

- **Resource Management**: Design intelligent auto-scaling solutions and right-sizing recommendations to balance performance with cost efficiency

- **ROI Analysis**: Provide data-driven insights on infrastructure ecosystem technology decisions

Test Automation & Environment Management

- **Ephemeral Environments**: Architect and build dynamic, on-demand testing environments that spin up and tear down automatically to support continuous testing

- **Test Infrastructure**: Design scalable test automation frameworks that support parallel execution, data management, and environment isolation

- **Performance Testing**: Implement comprehensive performance and load testing capabilities integrated into the deployment pipeline

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

- **Infrastructure Representation**: Serve as primary technical representative of AMCB Digital in infrastructure organization forums, contributing to architectural decisions and technology roadmaps

- **Technical Strategy**: Influence and drive long-term technical strategy for AMCB Digital platform engineering, developer experience, and operational excellence

- **Cross-functional Collaboration**: Partner with development teams, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational goals

- **Mentorship**: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on DevSecOps best practices

Depth & Scope:

Recognized as an internal and external expert in specific domain(s) within the organization; Spends the majority of their time on technical issuesSets the direction and oversees the work of other IT professionals as assigned on complex, highly-visible engineering projects of significant profile, strategic importance, and enterprise impact to the BankRecognized as an internal expert within the broad engineering field and may have specialized expertise within multiple domainsProvides consultative and strategic guidance to executive leadership

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's or Graduate degreeStrong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)  or 15+ years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles with 3+ years in senior/principal positions

- Expert-level knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)

- Proficiency with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their cost optimization tools

- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)

- Security tools integration experience (SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning)

- Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect)

- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)

- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar cost optimization certification

- Experience with service mesh technologies with particular focus on observability and resilience

- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA)

FinOps & Cost Management

- Demonstrated experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices

- Knowledge of cost management tools (CloudHealth, Cloudability, native cloud cost tools)

- Experience with resource tagging strategies, cost allocation, and chargeback models

- Understanding of reserved instances, spot instances, and other cloud pricing models

Leadership

- Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional projects

- Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
