We are seeking an experienced and driven Data Architect to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This role is pivotal in advancing our data integration strategy by delivering seamless integrations, driving standardization, and solving complex technical problems.
The selected candidate will assist integrations supporting business development and executive reporting, with responsibilities provided below. The individual will support the planning and implementation of solutions that align to the data ecosystem architecture.
The primary location of this position is in Falls Church, VA but we may also consider a hybrid or teleworker arrangement.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Translate solution requirements into data architectures by designing and creating the conceptual, logical and physical data architectures and collaborating with other architects to:
Document as is state for solutions.
Develop and document transition plans from current to future states
Document and update implementation gaps between logical models and physical models during implementation
Oversee the implementation of data integration processes to ensure reuse, accuracy, and quality in integrations.
Create and maintain documentation of the organization's data architecture, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and metadata repositories.
Work closely with cross-functional teams on data-related projects and initiatives, providing guidance and expertise.
Communicate complex data concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience OR a STEM Masters Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
At least 3 years of experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, Systems Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and/or initiatives.
In-depth knowledge of data modeling and database design.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data integration techniques.
Programming experience in SQL and python
Proficiency building data schemas, data models, and pipelines (ETL/ELT)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with enterprise data integration projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Data Science
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in solution architecting, utilizing techniques and tools to help communicate the solution.
Experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry
Advanced knowledge of data governance, data quality and data security best practices
Experience with SAP’s data infrastructure tools.
Experience with database technologies such as SQL and data warehousing solutions at an enterprise level.
Experience with at least one RDBMS tool (Oracle, MSSMS, etc.).
Experience with at least one architecture or modeling framework (UAF, TOGAF, DODAF, etc.).
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to data management.
Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
