Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Lab Test organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role you will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. You will interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software along with coordinating installation and providing backup recovery.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.Setting up administrator and service accountsMaintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.Maintaining availability of instrumentation data network and instrumentation data center.Collecting and reporting system data metrics.Ensuring systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans.Providing software maintenance and installing software upgrades and patches.Maintaining active licenses, maintenance contracts and warrantees.Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call statusAbility to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, and reach.Must possess a current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent)Demonstrated systems administration experience, to include Windows or Linux or similar environmentsExperience setting up and maintaining networksPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with VMware virtual networking, VMware Horizon 8, VMware vSphere 8 and/or VMware Data Storage administration.Previous cybersecurity, Information Assurance experience, and/or system administration experience.Active Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.Active VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization certification (VCP-DCV).Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability.Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication, and migration.Knowledge of various storage systems VNX/Unity/XTREMIO.#AS-FA3
Primary Level Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $157,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
