Northrop Grumman's Sensing & Secure Solutions Operating Unit is actively seeking a talented SW Engineer to join a Northrop Grumman primed program. This position's work location is in Annapolis Junction Maryland and is part of the Mission Systems Sector within Northrop Grumman.

We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Cyber Software Engineer based out of Annapolis Junction, MD.

What You'll Get to Do:

Analyze user requirement s to derive software design and performance requirementsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresDebug existing software and correct defectsIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsDevelop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositoriesProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsWrite or review software and system documentationDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areasServe as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular projectModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designDesign or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queriesOversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular projectDesign or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team productsConfer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are metImplement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards 

Basic Qualifications

An active TS/SCI Polygraph Clearance through the MD customer, with latest update less than 10 years oldBS + 5 years of exp; MS + 3 years of exp: PhD + 1 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience can be substituted for BS degree.Experience with Java, C++, or Python.Experience with GitLab.Experience working System Test, SW Development and/or Systems EngineeringFamiliarity with CI/CD principles.Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs).Expert level understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence).Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks (Selenium).Experience with TestLink.Experience using UI automation software (Selenium).

Primary Level Salary Range: $125,300.00 - $187,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
