Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking a Principal Configuration Control Systems Engineer.
What You’ll Get to Do:
IPT/Segment Level role, works with Configuration Management team at Program/System level to implement Program's Configuration Management strategy within the IPT
• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
• Lead and oversee configuration identification, control, auditing, status accounting, and verification processes.
• Ensure that configuration control is applied to complex engineering changes within the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with various departments including engineering, production, and quality assurance to plan and manage product baselines and documentation.
• Conduct configuration audits to verify conformance to requirements and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies.
• Provide expert guidance and support on configuration management best practices to project teams.
• Maintain configuration management databases and tools, ensuring the integrity and security of configuration data.
• Lead training and mentoring initiatives of other configuration analysts.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and programs.
• Engage daily with programs on matters of configuration and change management, conduct and lead Configuration Control Boards
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA.
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD
• Understanding and experience with configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII).
• Proficient in using configuration management software tools and systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Experience in Teamcenter, CPLM PLM tool, Enovia, Windchill, and/or Costpoint or similar tools
• Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII-P, CMC).
• Domain knowledge of Configuration Mgmt. standards such as MIL-HDBK-61A &/or EIA-649B &/or EIA-649-1
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
