Our work depends on a Principal Cloud Developer joining our dynamic team to work in a fast-paced environment with engineering, migration, and operations. We’re looking for a self-starter to work both as part of the team and on individual assignments in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity, and communications.

We’re looking to fill this role with someone who currently has cloud experience, certifications, and the skills necessary to execute in large environments, is flexible and enjoys tackling challenges, and desires to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large, multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating it. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
As a Principal Cloud Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

Designs, architects, deploys and maintains cloud solutionsMaintains the integrity and security of systemsMaintains all documentationsSupports and develops automationDevelops in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, PythonMaintains/enhances knowledge of AWS cloud servicesMonitors and tunes the cloud systems to achieve optimum performance levelsWorks across teams and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildoutsDeals with escalations. Makes assessments, recommendations, or provides solutions to resolve issuesComposes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Principal Cloud Developer must have:

Technical Training, Certificate, or Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major strongly preferredPrincipal Level: 5+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing required; 7+ years of total IT experience strongly preferred

Required Skills:

Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Bash, PowerShell, or PythonDevelopment background in Node.JS and React.JSUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architectureCollaborate with cross-functional teams (including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers) to deliver high-quality solutionsDesign and implement data processing and integration solutions using ETL toolsExperience with application using serverless architecture and/or containerizationExcellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

Preferred Skills:

Linux OS experience

Security Clearance Level: Must be able to pass a background check to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust
