As a Principal Advanced Network Technical Support (P-ANTS), you will be responsible for leading the introduction and integration of new technology platforms and features into ATTs distributed real-time network environment and deliver the highest-level network technology support within ATTs technology support structure.
In this role, it will require technical expertise of Mobility network architecture. Understand network components, services, and equipment interdependencies. Requirement for strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels within a customer’s company as well as within our own internal organizations. With increasing network support demands and design complexities the candidate requires the appropriate in-depth technical competency to contribute during the technology insertion phase as well as Tier 3 support during network events.
Position will fill a key leadership role in the areas of:
Network Security audits, identification, and mitigation in mobility core network elements
Mobility Evolved Packet Core (EPC) support for 4G (Blackbird and NEO Gateways) & 5G (SMF, UPF, NRF, NSSF) core mobility infrastructure.
Certification and validation of security on Microsoft, Ericsson, and Cisco 4G/5G platforms
What you’ll do:
Perform equipment certification testing
Evaluate, manage, and develop mitigation solutions for new technology introduction risks
Responsible for the development, testing and handoff of detailed methods and procedures for new technology introduction to partner implementation organizations
Develop troubleshooting guides and provide coaching for new technology and designs
Key network support functions include, but not limited to, resolving critical outages, evaluating failure modes, and involvement in root cause analysis investigations
Provide tier 3 field support for overall health of the end-to-end network participating in problem determination and resolution of chronic issues
24x7 on-call from escalating organizations
Provide the technical troubleshooting and leadership skills required to recover from the most complex network problems in real time, directing the activities of technical resources from Tier 2, CTO, and the vendors to restore service
Drive problem management initiatives to solve complex issues that span multiple organizations which may include problem recreation, identification of fixes, certification of fixes and/or design changes and define the least intrusive recovery processes
Will participate with cross-functional teams in support of technology insertion and root cause analysis investigations and may be involved as a technical subject matter expert on special projects
What you’ll need:
Expert level FFA and outage management support
Best practices for security measures deployed in mobility core network
Collect and analyze complex technical data
Perform trend and root cause analysis
Lead the development and implementation of corrective action plans
Act as a peer mentor on existing and evolving technologies
What you’ll bring:
10+ years combined experience as a SME in Network Operations or Advanced Network Technical Support role.
10+ years hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of Evolved Packet Core (EPC) Gateway equipment.
10+ years combined experience designing, implementing and/or troubleshooting Mobility Evolved Packet Core (EPC), 5G Core, and associated service flows.
8+ years combined experience designing, implementing and/or troubleshooting in Cloud Architecture
8+ years equipment and software vendor management experience (Microsoft, Cisco, Ericsson, etc.)
Required Experience:
8+ years of related experience; Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role
Certification is required in some areas
Desired Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Our Principal Adv Network Tech Support earns between $128,400 - $215,800 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
