Position Summary...What you'll do...As a Principal Data Analyst supporting the Sam’s Club merchandising organization and specifically our private brand Member’s Mark within the Fresh, Freezer, and Cooler business, you’ll sit at the center of one of Sam’s Club’s highest-impact merchandising areas. This is not a “back-office analytics” role — it’s a chance to directly influence what millions of Members experience every day.
You’ll speak directly with Members, transform their feedback into actionable insights, and partner with merchants and product developers to shape the future of Member’s Mark innovation. From survey creation to data storytelling to AI integration, you’ll drive the full journey of how Member insights become product decisions. If you love solving business problems, leading discussions with data, and shaping strategy through compelling narratives, this role puts you in the seat to make real change.
What You’ll Do
In Your First 90 Days 30 Days: Build relationships with merchants, product developers and cross-functional teams; learn the landscape of Fresh/Freezer/Cooler.60 Days: Execute against the strategic research vision, owning survey programs, insights deliverables, and Member engagement.90 Days: Operate independently as the business’s insights leader — driving decisions, communicating across stakeholders, and independently delivering high-impact analyses.
Ongoing Responsibilities
Turn Member feedback into strategy Design, program, and field Member surveys and other methodologies for Fresh/Freezer/Cooler business with the Member’s Mark Community.Directly engage with Members to capture needs, frustrations, and opportunities.Analyze qualitative + quantitative data to identify product and experience improvements in Fresh/Freezer/Cooler.
Tell stories that influence decisions Build compelling insight narratives that drive product developer and merchant action.Present recommendations to leadership with confidence, clarity, and strategic framing.Translate complex analytics into stories that shift decisions and spark innovation.
Elevate how the business uses data Integrate AI tools to find efficiencies, automate processes, and increase speed-to-insight.Identify and recommend the right questions to ask and data sources and perform quality checks.Build statistical analyses, experiments, and research models that uncover meaningful patterns.
Lead as a senior member of the team Have a collaborative, servant leader mindsetAct as a mentor and thought partner to other associates.Champion continuous improvement and change management across the team and larger organization.Serve as an internal consultant for large-scale or ambiguous business questions.
