Ideal candidate believes in serving the whole child as a member of the culturally diverse world community, is familiar with MTSS/PBIS and Restorative Practices, and strengths in communication. Must possess fluency in both Spanish and English and have strengths in collaboration. Must possess fluency in both Spanish and English and be a compassionate, culturally sensitive, self-starter who has strength in collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience in an early elementary immersion classroom and have a valid Multiple Subjects CA credential and BCLAD certificate. GENERAL INFORMATION: At Fuente Nueva, we offer a full Spanish immersion program. Students learn a second language by studying all core content areas in Spanish. Lessons are supported with teaching strategies that enable students to build their language skills while also mastering the objectives of the lesson. English is formally introduced in second grade with four hours of instruction a week. The amount of formal English instruction increases as the students matriculate through the grades. Students gain a strong foundation in their second language by learning to read and write in Spanish first.
