Pressroom Feeder Operator

Position Title: Feeder Operator

Position Summary
Operate the mechanical sheet feeder and assist the Press Operator with press setup, repair, and maintenance to support efficient and high-quality press operations.


Essential Job Functions
• Clear machine before and after each run; remove and destroy all foreign materials.
• Empty all waste receptacles within the blue line area.
• Review job tickets and select the correct paper type and quantity; load and unload paper.
• Inspect paper for defects or damage.
• Obtain proper ink from the ink room and maintain correct ink fountain levels.
• Mix water fountain solution; set up and maintain the dampening system.
• Monitor and maintain proper water levels, pH balance, and conductivity readings.
• Set up and operate the mechanical press feeder.
• Assist the Press Operator with mounting plates, blankets, and packing.
• Move printed and unprinted stock as required.
• Perform routine adjustments during press runs.
• Complete housekeeping duties; maintain adequate supplies of chemicals and clean rags.
• Keep the press area clean and orderly at all times.
• Complete all ISO forms and quality checks accurately and on time.
• Mark printed sheets for coating knockouts and verify against mylar.
• Perform all duties in compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to pass a basic reading test.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to meet or pass mechanical aptitude testing or demonstrate aptitude through prior experience.
• Ability to pass color vision and color hue tests.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Reliable attendance required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Required PPE includes safety glasses, ear plugs or earmuffs, safety shoes, gloves (as required), hard hats, and any additional PPE based on task.
• Compliance with company employment policies, handbook, and workplace safety procedures.
• Participation in safety reporting, incident reporting, and Safety Excellence System processes.
• Follow site management direction related to safety programs and task assignments.
• Completion of required training through the Learning and Development System.
• Understanding and adherence to the STOP Work Process; employees may stop work at any time to ensure safety.
