**Job Title: Press Operator** Job Description We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to lead the production line in a highly automated environment. The Press Operator will be responsible for loading raw material steel coils and dies, monitoring production quality and flow, and ensuring a high-quality finished product. This role involves operating machinery, performing solo quality checks, and recording results using Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities + Load the production line with raw material steel coils and dies using a forklift. + Monitor the production process to ensure smooth operation and prepare for changeovers. + Perform solo quality checks using a tape measure and record results in Excel. + Understand production run elements (color, stamp shape, and width) and load machines accordingly. + Lead the line on the 2nd shift, ensuring efficient teamwork with laborers. + Be adaptable and ready to troubleshoot issues that may arise during production. Essential Skills + Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift. + Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day. + Proficient in reading a tape measure for quality measurements. + Ability to enter data accurately into Microsoft Excel. + Experience in operating machinery in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Mechanical and CNC operation knowledge. + Experience with press brake and machine setup. + Ability to use hand tools and power tools. + Steel toe boots required (boot allowance provided once full-time). Work Environment The Press Operator will work on the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM, with training on the 1st shift for 8-10 months. The facility operates on a flexible schedule, especially during peak seasons. The work environment is a mild manufacturing setting without air conditioning, but large fans are in place to maintain a comfortable temperature. The operator will work alongside a long production line, adhering to safety protocols with provided PPE, including steel toes, gloves, and eye protection. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
