Job Title: Press Feeder

Job Description

Responsible for the preparation and operation of automatic feeder and maintaining the trailing coater. Additionally, assist the press operator in tandem press operations as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare the press feed section according to the sheet size involved.Assist the press operator in setting up the press, installing the press plate, setting dampeners and rollers, filling ink fountain, and fountain solution with the correct pH and conductivity.Check each load of plate for correct size, job number, plate position, and general condition before pushing into the feeder.Line up the load for proper continuous feeding and adjust the double sheet ejector.Remain constantly alert during runs for correct feeder operation to catch damaged sheets and prevent jams or passage to the press.Insert sheet holding forks near the end of each load for continuous feeding operation between loads.Assist the press operator during runs in mixing inks, washing press plate and blanket, and other duties as assigned.Responsible for complete press operation during the temporary absence of the press operator, under their supervision.Perform miscellaneous oiling of the press and feeder as directed.Wash up the press during color changes and at the end of the day/shift/week.Maintain an accurate day log card and order work copies with operations performed, sheet count, and spoilage.Occasionally required to hand pile sheets on the feeder skid as assigned.Set up the trailing coater and maintain film weight, viscosity, and coverage during runs.Change the composition coating roller when necessary and ensure proper wash-up of the coating machine between material changes and at the end of the day/shift/week for easy start-up.Essential SkillsExperience in printing press operation and troubleshooting.Ability to assist in operator setups and setting up press plating.Experience in cleaning the press daily and logging information accurately.Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with lithography and machine operation.Attention to detail and ability to work with coating materials.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust pass the Farnsworth Munsell 100 Hue Test.Ability to use and read basic measuring equipment.Capability to read and comprehend work order and layout specifications.High school diploma, GED equivalency, or vocational certificate required.Ability to work with materials weighing up to approximately 60 lbs.Position requires standing most of the time.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Our lithography department is climate-controlled, fostering a close-knit culture. The position is available on the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm, with initial training on the 1st shift for 3-8 weeks, and a 7% shift premium upon moving to the 2nd shift. We also have openings on the 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am, with similar training and a 15% shift premium when moved to the 3rd shift.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60216.00 - $69248.40/yr.
