Overview
Running a press brake in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment
Performing basic setups, die/tool changes, and machine adjustments
Operating CNC or manual brake presses (Amada, Accurpress, Cincinnati, Trumpf, etc.)
2. Sheet Metal Fabrication
Bending, forming, or shaping sheet metal
Working with mild steel, stainless, or aluminum
Following production specs in a fabrication shop
3. Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation
Reading mechanical drawings
Understanding bend radius, angles, tolerances, and material orientation
4. Precision Measurement
Using calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gauges, or tape measures
Performing first-piece and in-process quality checks
5. Machine Setup or Tooling
Changing tooling, punches, dies, and back-gauge setups
Adjusting stroke length, speed, and pressure
Aligning materials and verifying machine readiness
6. Production Machine Operation (Related Equipment)
Experience on similar forming or stamping equipment also counts:
Punch press
Metal stamping press
Roll forming machines
CNC fabrication machines (laser, turret press, etc.)

Set up and operate automatic punch presses in alignment with job specs and quality standards.
Install, align, adjust, and secure die sets.
Read and interpret setup sheets, manufacturing work orders, and blueprints.
Adjust feed, shut height, tooling, and safety devices.
Run first-piece inspections and make in-process adjustments.
Monitor production to ensure consistent performance and part quality.
Perform material setup through dereelers/straighteners as needed.
Tear down setups and maintain clean, safe work areas.
