**Job Title: Press Brake Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our team in crafting custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. The role involves forming and pressing metal to create the metal framework for cabinets housing electrical switchgears and power distribution systems. The operator will utilize both manual and CNC Press Brake Machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in production.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines to form and press metal.
+ Read blueprints and accurately measure metal using tape measures and calipers.
+ Verify dimensions and adjust machines to make different punches on 11 gauge sheet metal.
+ Physically load large sheets of metal into machines and set up for production.
+ Engage in fast-paced production work, constantly loading and setting up sheets.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5+ years of CNC operating experience.
+ Proficiency in press brake operation.
+ Experience with sheet metal fabrication.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Competence in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with laser operation and fiber laser cutting.
+ Extensive knowledge of G&M code.
+ Familiarity with 11 gauge sheet metal processing.

**Work Environment**
The work takes place in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop, one of four Spike facilities. The environment is non-climate controlled with open bay doors and plenty of fans. The shop operates at a fast pace with around 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, QC personnel, material handlers, and managers. Safety attire includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The night shift is from Monday to Friday, 6:00pm to 6:00am, with frequent 50-60 hour work weeks. Similarly, the day shift runs from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
