The CNC Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC press brake machines to bend and form metal parts according to specifications. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC press brake machines to form metal components per engineering drawings and job travelers.Program CNC press brakes (or make program edits) to ensure accurate bends and tolerances.Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and punches.Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and bend charts.Perform first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.Load and unload materials safely, using cranes or forklifts when required.Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety guidelines.Identify and report equipment issues or quality concerns to supervisors.Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.Essential SkillsExperience running and operating a CNC Press brake.Ability to make regular calibration changes to machine to ensure proper running within required tolerance settings.Understanding of how sheet metal will respond under the pressure of a press brake.Familiarity with CNC controls and press brake programming.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience operating a CNC press brake.Experience working with sheet metal fabrication.Why Work Here?Join a small company with big contracts for national fast food chains where you will be appreciated, have a voice, and feel valued every day at work.
