A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care. Education: Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited educational program for surgical technologists and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization ( **National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)** ; or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., candidate provides evidence that he/she worked as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015; candidate provides evidence of completing a military surgical technology program). Associates degree preferred. 2. Experience: 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience. 3. License/Certification Required: American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification required; certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgicaltechnologist credentialing organization ( **National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)** (unless otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law) 4.
