Pre‑Construction Manager — Full Time | Wilton, CTAbout the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Pre‑Construction Manager to join our team full‑time in Wilton, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting commercial, clean room, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor projects, and will play a critical role in planning, estimating, and coordinating pre‑construction efforts to ensure seamless project execution.
This position requires excellent technical knowledge, financial accuracy, and the ability to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and key trade partners. You’ll be responsible for leading early‑phase project strategy while ensuring cost efficiency, constructability, and schedule alignment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Cost ManagementDevelop conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates.Prepare quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and equipment pricing.Lead value‑engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality.Maintain historical cost data and benchmark information for future projects.Pre‑Construction PlanningCreate preliminary project schedules, logistics plans, and phasing strategies.Review drawings and specifications for constructability and completeness.Identify scope gaps and ensure alignment between design intent and budget constraints.Evaluate site conditions, risks, and existing conditions to support early-stage planning.Design CoordinationCollaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and owners during design development.Provide recommendations to resolve design conflicts and optimize project feasibility.Assist with permitting strategies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.Procurement & Subcontractor ManagementDevelop bid packages and manage the full bidding process.Prequalify subcontractors and analyze proposals for accuracy and competitiveness.Build and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners and suppliers.Client & Internal Team CollaborationPresent budgets, schedules, constructability reviews, and design recommendations to stakeholders.Facilitate pre‑construction meetings with owners, designers, and internal teams.Assemble comprehensive pre‑construction deliverables to ensure smooth transition to operations.Support project managers during early construction phases as needed.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).5+ years of experience in estimating, pre‑construction, or project management.Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and commercial building systems.Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.Preferred SkillsExperience with clean room, pharmaceutical, high‑end commercial, and semiconductor projects.Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, and Sage.Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and takeoffs.PMP certification is a plus.Experience managing projects ranging from $500K–$20M (especially $3–5M range).Work EnvironmentFull‑time, on‑site role based in Wilton, CT.Standard hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.Involves a combination of office and field visits within Connecticut (Fairfield, Hartford, New Haven counties) and occasional travel to nearby regional sites.Company culture emphasizes training, ongoing development, and long‑term growth opportunities.Job Type & Location

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
