Preclinical Surgical Assistant
Job Title: Preclinical Surgical AssistantJob Description

This role in Preclinical Research is designed to provide essential surgical support to preclinical surgeons during the research, development, and evaluation phases utilizing both animate and inanimate models. The Preclinical Surgical Assistant will also assist in research and testing that supports the development of products or procedures in open and minimally invasive surgery.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in preclinical laboratories assisting the lead preclinical surgeon (MD, DVM, or Surgical Research Specialist) in acute and survival procedures.Provide support throughout the preclinical surgical process including surgical circulator, instrument and operating room preparation, as well as animal preparation and recovery.Maintain compliance with all training requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBackground in veterinary/animal science is required.At least 2 years of experience in a surgical environment.Experience assisting surgical procedures on various animal species, preferably porcine, caprine, and canine.Excellent communication and organizational skills, including written, oral, and listening abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree in a related field is required.Bachelor’s degree is preferred.Work Environment

The Preclinical Surgical Assistant will work in a dynamic research environment that involves both animate and inanimate models. This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
