Description

This position in Preclinical Research is responsible for providing surgical support to the preclinical surgeons during research, development, and evaluation utilizing animate and inanimate models. In addition, the Preclinical Surgical Assistant will assist the preclinical surgeons in performing research and testing supporting development of products or procedures in open and minimally invasive surgery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Participate in preclinical laboratories assisting the lead preclinical surgeon (MD, DVM, or Surgical Research Specialist) in acute and survival procedures.

-Provide support throughout the preclinical surgical process including:

\t-Surgical circulator

\t-Instrument and operating room preparation

\t-Preparation and recovery

-Maintain compliance with all training requirements

-Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications

-Associates degree in related field is required

-Background in veterinary/animal science is required

-Bachelor’s degree is preferred

-At least 2 years experience in a surgical environment

-Experience assisting surgical procedures

-Excellent communication and organizational skills-written/oral/listening

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
