Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.
******This role is a 2nd shift role******
2nd Shift Hours – 9/80 2 pm to 1130pm (Every Other Friday Off) or 5/40 2 pm to 1030 PM M-F
What You'll Get to Do:
Perform a variety of operations to assemble precision electromechanical productsPerform tasks such as honing and operating manual equipmentUse precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to a specified toleranceAssemble, disassemble, repair, and reassemble precision assemblies and correct malfunctions often while using a microscopeMay assemble and modify prototype precision units for engineering personnelMay monitor and verify quality by statistical processes or other control proceduresPerform accurate data/record keepingPerform tasks according to the company’s electrostatic discharge (ESD) proceduresWork from designs, work instructions, and verbal instructionsAbility to use Microsoft Office productsHandle hazardous chemicals, baths, and cleaning solutions safely as part of the assembly process, following all related safety guidelinesPerform repetitive tasks and sustain prolonged standing during work shiftsAbility and willingness to work overtime, including staying after normal working hours and weekend work when neededAdditional Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Must be comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and cleaning solutions, with a focus on rigorous adherence to safety protocolsPosition involves repetitive tasks and prolonged standing; the candidate should be able to manage these physical demands effectivelyThe ideal candidate must be able to communicate, read, understand, work using a microscope, work with small mechanical parts and fiber optic cables, follow standard operating procedures, and assemble work instructions for complex electronic builds. They will possess a strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
Basic Qualifications for the Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2:
High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience performing assembly of electronic devices using standard electromechanical techniques and basic handheld tools with good dexterityExperience in soldering specified by workmanship standardsExperience with shop safety practices and procedures during assembly operationsAbility to complete in-house Solder, Optics, ESD, and FOD certificationsU.S. Citizenship RequiredPreferred Qualifications for the Precision Electromechanical Assembler 2:

Primary Level Salary Range: $45,100.00 - $75,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
