Job Summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Pre-Kindergarten Teachers for three (3) classrooms at Beekman Elementary School, Poughquag, NY.


This role provides four-year-olds with a high-quality early learning experience that builds a strong foundation for Kindergarten. The ideal candidate is creative, culturally responsive, and passionate about early childhood development, with experience in early literacy, multi-disciplinary approaches, and strategies for diverse learners.


This position emphasizes child-centered learning, literacy and numeracy development, social-emotional growth, and collaboration with colleagues and families.


Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K program aligned with UPK School District requirementsDesign and teach culturally responsive lessonsAssess, track, and provide timely feedback on student progress and developmentUse positive, age-appropriate guidance strategiesBuild strong relationships with staff and families through professional communication and engagementCollaborate with teacher assistants and other team membersDesign classroom environments following ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale)Develop literacy and math-focused activities using the Creative CurriculumParticipate in professional development and program evaluation Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current NYS teaching certificate valid for service in the early childhood gradesBachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)Experience teaching preschool-age children EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To be qualified as a Pre-K teacher, a person must possess either:
(a) New York State Certification Birth–Grade 2 OR
(b) New York State Certification N–6 OR
(c) New York State Certification P, K, 1–6 OR
(d) Bachelor’s Degree & approved 5-Year Plan
