This role focuses on advancing space systems through comprehensive systems engineering efforts. The Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer will contribute to architecture trade studies, system design analysis, and performance modeling through advanced simulations. In this capacity, you will define and manage requirements, develop segment interfaces, and leverage cutting-edge technologies in system design.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Your Role and Impact:
Defining system architectures, conducting trade studies, and developing specifications.Allocating and validating requirements and contributing to payload performance analysis.Designing modeling and simulation tools for system-level performance evaluation.Leading payload hardware development for space and ground systems integration.Managing performance, hardware, and integration processes.This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.
This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/accessGround systems design (tasking, planning, C2)Experience with spacecraft system designExperience with system engineering processesExperience designing, integrating, testing and operating ground and space systemsBasic Qualifications for Level 4:

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
