Job Title: Power Electronics EngineerJob Description Join a dynamic and innovative team as a Power Electronics Engineer, where you will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to push the boundaries of design for analog and digitally controlled power converters. You will be instrumental in developing new power conversion products, turning theoretical concepts into reality, and leading technical advancements in power product development. Responsibilities + Work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to advance analog and digitally controlled power converters. + Develop new power conversion products by turning theoretical concepts into practical solutions. + Provide technical leadership in power product development. + Design, troubleshoot, and validate 115VAC, 400 Hz to 28-800VDC, 1kW-20kW, 1 and 3-phase active power converters and motor control products for aerospace applications. + Design and troubleshoot DC-DC power converters ranging from 0.8V to 800V and 100W to 20kW. + Develop schematics and oversee PCB layouts. + Engage in system integration within a team environment to create specifications and develop test scenarios. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience with power electronics, hardware, and power systems. + Proficiency in electrical engineering, particularly with DC-DC and ZCS converters. + Experience with DO-178 and Military standards. + Aerospace and defense experience. + 3-5 years of relevant experience. + Familiarity with Orcad, PCB Design, and Pls Cadd. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three years related experience, or a relevant degree and five years of related work experience. + Experience with DFX, aerospace, and standard knowledge (e.g., DO160, STD-461, STD-704, etc.). + Proficiency with PCB design software and experience in designing/building prototype boards. + Visionary mindset with a focus on long-term team and organizational success. + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others. + Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail. + Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and represent the organization professionally. Work Environment This role is based in an office and manufacturing environment, characterized by a fast-paced, deadline-driven culture that can be stressful at times. The engineering team consists of 32 members, and there are currently 4 openings with 7 more anticipated due to growth from new contracts. The dress code is casual, with polo or button-down shirts and jeans/slacks. Work hours are Monday through Friday, during normal day shift hours (8-5). Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Olathe, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $185000.00/yr. Normal benefits.
