Power Distribution Engineer
Job Title: Power Distribution Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Power Distribution Engineer to oversee electric utility distribution design efforts and support Project Managers in delivering high-quality services. The role involves managing consultants, preparing proposals, and ensuring profitable and efficient operations within the Distribution Design group. Responsibilities + Supervise and support electric utility distribution design efforts. + Collaborate with Project Management to prepare and coordinate proposals, schedules, and budget estimates. + Assign and schedule work to meet client requirements, ensuring resource efficiency. + Manage the Distribution Design group to meet profitability and quality targets. + Lead the expansion of the Distribution Design group by hiring, marketing services, and delivering excellent client service. + Act as a resource for business development with clients and partners. + Maintain complete and accurate records of all work performed by the Distribution Design group. + Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control on all group projects. + Communicate and negotiate effectively with clients, agencies, and the public. + Utilize Microsoft Office and CAD-based programs proficiently. + Engage with industry committees and associations as needed. + Travel as necessary to support work. + Administer company policies, salary administration, training, safety, employee development, and performance evaluations. + Approve timesheets and expenses for direct reports. + Achieve weekly billable goals as defined by project guidelines. + Support projects requiring Joint Use experience. + Perform other duties as assigned by management. Essential Skills + Minimum Associate Degree in Engineering, with 5+ years of lead design experience. + Bachelor's Degree in engineering preferred; Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is a plus. + Strong leadership and supervisory skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CAD-based programs. + In-depth knowledge of electric utility distribution design and work management software. + Familiarity with electric distribution construction standards and practices. + Ability to navigate utility maps and design plans. + Knowledge of field measurement devices and survey equipment. + Self-driven with the ability to multitask. + Clear and valid driver's license; must be at least 21 years of age for driving duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in Joint Use projects is advantageous. + P.E. certification is a plus. + Strong client service orientation and marketing skills. + Innovative mindset with a high level of integrity. Work Environment The company is in the process of securing office space, expected by the end of the year. Business casual attire is expected. Relocation assistance is available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $127000.00/hr.
