**Title:** Power BI Data Analyst **Location:** Lake Forest, Illinois (100% Onsite) **Duration:** 6 Months (Possibility of Extension) **Shift Time:** 8am to 5pm **Pay Range :** $50/hr to $52/hr (On W2) We are looking for a **“Power BI Data Analyst“** to join one of our Fortune 500 clients. **Job Summary:** The Data Analyst will drive data visualization, reporting, and automation initiatives using advanced Power BI expertise and foundational Power Platform capabilities. This role is responsible for transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, developing interactive dashboards, and building lightweight digital solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate. The analyst will partner with cross functional business teams to support data driven decision-making and improve operational efficiency. **Top 5 Skills:** + Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, Dataflows, and data models. + Perform data transformation using Power Query (M language) and complex calculations using DAX. + Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability. + Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, cloud platforms, etc.). + Power Apps, Flow or Power Automate **Job Responsibilities:** + **Power BI Development & Analytics** + Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. + Perform data transformation using Power Query (M language) and complex calculations using DAX. + Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability. + Implement row-level security (RLS), workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines. + Conduct data validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all published outputs. + **Data Management & Insights** + Gather and analyze business requirements to build analytical solutions that support strategic decisions. + Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, cloud platforms, etc.). + Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and present insights to stakeholders in a clear, business-friendly manner. + Support KPI development and performance measurement across business functions. + **Power Platform (Power Apps & Power Automate)** + Develop basic to mid-level Power Apps to support workflow automation and digital forms. + Build automated workflows in Power Automate for approvals, notifications, and data integration. + Collaborate with IT or citizen developers to maintain governance and best practices. + Provide troubleshooting and enhancements for existing Power Platform solutions. + **Cross Functional Collaboration** + Work closely with business teams, IT, and leadership to translate needs into technical solutions. + Present insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders. + Support training and enablement activities for Power BI and Power Platform adoption. **Education:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. + 3–5 years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence roles. + Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard design. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with large and complex datasets. + Proficiency in SQL, Excel (advanced), and data visualization principles. + Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical data into business insights. **Key Competencies:** + Data modeling & visualization + Analytical thinking & problem solving + Stakeholder engagement + Business acumen + Process automation + Continuous improvement mindset + Programming and automation **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, or broader Power Platform capabilities. + Knowledge of Azure data services (Dataverse, Azure SQL, Data Factory). + Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics (optional). + Understanding of data governance, security, and lifecycle management. **Relevant Certifications such as:** + Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate + Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals **We are looking for the candidate who are eligible to work with any employers without sponsorship** .
