Description Power and Gas: Credit Risk Supervisor/Director Our client a Hedge Fund based in mid-town NYC continues to build out their physical energy trading team. We are looking for an experienced hands-on Credit Risk professional with oil and gas industry experience to lead credit risk management efforts. This role requires a strategic mindset to ensure counterparty credit risk is effectively managed. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in handling complex financial scenarios. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage counterparty credit risk, focusing on natural gas and power sectors. • Develop and implement advanced credit risk models to assess and mitigate potential financial exposures. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of credit risk strategies with organizational goals. • Lead efforts to monitor and evaluate creditworthiness of counterparties, ensuring compliance with industry standards. • Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on financial analysis and risk assessments. • Supervise the preparation and review of financial reports related to credit risk management. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to optimize risk management operations. • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends and their impact on credit risk. • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies. • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and company policies in credit risk practices. Requirements Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management within the oil and gas industry. • Proven expertise in developing and utilizing credit risk models. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. • In-depth knowledge of natural gas and power markets. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in finance. • Effective communication skills to present complex financial data to various stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
